This degree will allow the opportunity for the advanced student to hone skills in choral conducting, orchestral conducting, and band directing. The programme builds on the candidate’s competence on a primary instrument, and the experiences gained through training. The programme will equip the candidate to lead other skilled music performers in rehearsals and in ensemble performance contexts. The presence of leading ensembles within the JDF, such as the Jamaica Military Band, and The Jamaica Regiment Band, will provide opportunities for Music Directing students to develop and refine their competencies.
